The draw is the motion that gets the pistol from the holster into the grip and stance you shoot from. It is usually broken into three counts: (1) the strong hand takes its final grip while the gun is still holstered and the support hand moves to the chest; (2) the pistol comes out and both hands meet at the chest, completing the grip; (3) the arms press out to the target and the shot breaks. Drilled slowly at home, the three counts fuse into one smooth, fast movement - pure dry-fire repetition, no live ammo required.
